Should the catnip toys be stored when not in use?

I know most of us just throw catnip toys down on the floor and there they stay! One could consider not leaving catnip out 24/7 by placing the toys in an airtight container when not in use. The advantage to that is the cats aren’t constantly exposed to catnip and when brought back out, it’s like a new toy all over again! Let me know what works for your cat!
